Jack J. Sophir Arrowman of the Year Award Recipients

This award is given out to Arrowmen who have performed outstanding service to Scouting and the Order of the Arrow. The awards are presented each year at the Chapter Fellowship Banquet in February. If you know someone worthy, nominate that person; do not expect someone else to do it for you. Each year, only a few forms are turned in and many deserving people do not get chosen. 2007 Recipients

Matt Beyes

Matt Beyes is the perfect example of what scouting symbolizes. Matt is willing to do anything possible in order to help others when he is able. Matt is a Cub Leader for two dens in his pack. In addition he serves on the Cub Scout roundtable staff. Matt is active in helping not only his sons, but any other scout that needs his assistance. In the Order of the Arrow Matt serves as a vital member of the chapter’s ceremonial teams. For his strong dedication to scouting, we cheerfully nominate Matt Beyes for the Jack J. Sophir Arrowman of the Year Award.

Dale Christiansen

Dale Christiansen has displayed tireless enthusiasm towards scouting and the camping program. He has served as Scoutmaster for Troop 769 for 5 years and attended numerous weeklong summer camps, including many high adventure trips. He has shown dedication to his district through his work as a member of the Roundtable Staff. He has always been steadfast in his belief and encouragement of our youth to take charge and become excellent leaders. In addition he has encouraged members of his Troop to be in attendance at all Chapter and Lodge meetings and functions. For his continuous service to Scouting and the camping program, we proudly nominate Dale Christiansen for the Jack J. Sophir Arrowman of the Year Award.

Dan Corce

Eagle Scout Dan Corce has demonstrated true dedication to the Order of the Arrow and its principles. Dan has served the chapter as both Elangomat Chairman and Camp Promotion Chairman where he led the chapter to a successful year achieving 100% camp promotion. Dan currently serves as the Lodge Induction Enrichment Chairmen where he has worked tirelessly to create standards to enhance the Extended Elangomat program. In addition Dan has served on numerous Camporee and Klondike staffs as well as a year on the council summer camp staff at S-F. For his undying devotion to the scouting program, we proudly nominate Dan Corce for the Jack J. Sophir Arrowman of the Year Award.

Nick Foster

Brotherhood Scout Nick Foster truly demonstrates the principles of brotherhood, cheerfulness, and service. He is in his second term as the Senior Patrol Leader for Troop 284. He has served in just about every other leadership position in his Troop, and has served as a Den Chief for Cub Adventure Camp. In the Order of the Arrow, Nick has displayed a strong dedication to his Chapter’s crossover and ceremonial teams. He has attended OA summer camp, and this past National Order of the Arrow Conference. He is currently the Second Vice Chief of the Pathfinder Chapter. For his dedication to the Scouting Program and the Order of the Arrow, we proudly nominate Nick Foster for the Jack J. Sophir Arrowman of the Year Award.
